Depart Greensboro on I-40 in the direction of Winston Salem (West).
You will be traveling in a generally Western direction.
As you near Winston Salem watch for 421 North
NOTE:
Fork to the right onto 421 North
following signs towards Yadkinville and North Wilkesboro.
As you pass through Yadkinville (gas station, general store and 3 houses)
you will see signs for I-77 a major North / South artery which you can not miss.
I-77 is just past Yadkinville
(approximately 50 miles West of the Greensboro airport).
You are now 75 miles from Banner Elk.
Continue on 421 North through North Wilkesboro
Towards Boone, NC
As you enter the general area of Boone, NC
you will pass a large shopping complex on your right.
Continue up the hill and Turn left on NC-105 (large intersection).
Drive approximately 13 miles towards Foscoe, Banner Elk on NC-105
Turn right onto NC-184 / Tynecastle Hwy.
To The Great Train Robbery (GTR)
Continue on 184-North for 2 miles
On the left you will see THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY
(30,000 Sq Ft Building next to Lowe's Home Improvement)
To Eagles Nest
Continue on SR-184-North for 4 miles into the light in Banner Elk.
Turn left on 194-South - (you are about 3 miles from Eagles Nest)
On the right, 2 miles past the airport, you will see the signature rock walls
and the entrance to The Lodges at Eagles Nest.
