"Eagles Nest is...
High altitude, but way down to earth...remote, but not too far away...pristine, but far from untouchable...totally natural, but tastefully upscale...peaceful, but brimming with excitement...private, but not snooty...fun for family and friends, but romantic for private getaways...cool summer nights warmed by a cozy fire...sweatshirt weather all summer long...like being at camp with all the comforts of home...beauty that awakens your spirit...starry nights beyond compare...and last but not least, Eagles Nest is our heaven on earth!"

"We're thrilled to finally be under construction at Eagles Nest! We plan on moving to the mountain when it's done. Our two daughters, Priscilla and Jillian, love Eagles Nest, and we're confident they'll visit us often... at first with their friends, and someday with husbands and kids of their own."

Our home at Eagles Nest is absolutely beautiful and we knew it was going to be the ideal place to kick back, enjoy interesting people and experience the beauty of the mountain. It has far surpassed our expectations. We enjoy coming by ourselves as well as bringing our family and friends. The wonderful memories we have made here in the last three years will be with us forever and we look forward to making many more. Each time we leave Eagles Nest we can hardly wait until the next time we can come and enjoy the magic of the mountain."

Every visit back to Eagles Nest, to what my daughter, has affectionately named our home there, The Red House is exciting. Amidst the beautiful and unsurpassed surroundings of Eagles Nest is this undeniably profound experience we get each and every time we are in our mountain home. Whether its the horses grazing in the entrance we sometimes get to feed, the deer grazing at dusk or the live blues band playing on a weekend at The Great Camp that gives my son the chance to strum on their banjo during downtime, for us, the time we spend together as a family is so precious. Of course, my 5 year old loves most a fast drive around the hills in the Gator while my 2 year old, enjoys collecting stones from the ground. Each time, we find ourselves exploring new ways to enjoy the easy life in the mountains, a life that is so strikingly different than our hectic, overscheduled day to day at home in Miami. This summer, we are excited to horseback ride again with Ricardo (that is, if my favorite horse Grace is still waiting for me :-), take some nature walks and pick blueberries, experience the rapids of Tennesse, indulge in one too many s'mores, hit up the Mast General store in Boone for anything & everything and naturally, gem mine, a favorite of Isabella?s. July 4 in Banner Elk is fun, spirited and something both my children look forward to as beads and better yet, candy are flung their way. Oh, and throw on our cowboy boots. Whatever we do, its always something we long to repeat again each and every summer we return home."

Eagles Nest is our escape to relaxation. Eagles Nest is a get-away, where we feel like we have been swept far far away from all of the hustle and bustle we left just 2 hours behind. As soon as we arrive at the beautiful wooden gate, it all vanishes and a heaven appears. Eagles Nest offers families a mountain paradise, where anything you dream is possible. It is an incredible experience for our boys and our family, from rope climbing to mountain biking, to soccer fields and kite flying. There are bonfires and jeep excursions and wonderful people to share time with. The amenities are endless and growing. We have watched this mountain develop steadily for 3 years already and are looking forward to being a part of the future at Eagles Nest."

" My family and I have been coming to Eagles Nest for years now. We live in Miami Beach, and have a busy lifestyle here, so we always look forward to going to Eagles Nest to relax and enjoy some quality family time together. A day at Eagles Nest can be very relaxing or full of activities. Whether you choose to relax with a good book in a hammock at the Tee Pee Village or play a game of baseball, soccer, or other game on the field at The Great Camp, your day will be filled with memories that will last a lifetime. There are miles of trails on the mountain for horseback riding, motocross, and hiking. The trails take you through nature at it's best with waterfalls, big rocks to climb through, and a little added fun with rope bridges and "spider web" climb. After a day full of activities, you can get a massage in one of the TeePee's. My family and I go to Eagles Nest each season, and there's not one season I prefer to another. Each one brings it's own beauty to the mountain. Eagles Nest will always be a place our family can go to escape, unwind, and spend quality time together. Each time we leave our home in Eagles Nest, we always anticipate the next visit."

"We love coming to the mountains to our new home at Eagles Nest. We enjoy riding horses, which we do on every trip up to the mountain. We love skiing in the winter months and going on the back side of the mountain on the beautiful endless trails and 4wheeling. Grace and her friends love the animal habitat and the rope course. We feel we have a new family with all our new friends at Eagles Nest. We look forward to our future watching our daughter Grace and all her friends grow up and having fun at a beautiful place we are proud to call home."

"Our hearts belong to the High Country. In our travels we have not been inspired nor awed by any place and its people more than this part of Western NC. We love the Biltmore and tried to imagine a “small cabin that George and Edith Vanderbilt would spend days in when they wanted to rough it” when we adorned our new home on Eagles Nest. We are ecstatic to be able to share in the marvelous beauty that is found on Eagles Nest and find something new to delight in with each trip."

"As much as we love South Florida and all the sun and fun that it offers, we feel fortunate to have spent our summer 2009 vacation at Eagles Nest. We felt that Eagles Nest provided the perfect balance that we needed and knew we wanted to be a permanent part of this beautiful scenery and surrounded by all the wonderful people we met. To the Turchin family, Johnny, Susan, Ashley and Jordan, thank you for sharing your vision and wanting us to be a part of this wonderful community. We look forward to getting our retreat built and enjoying the future endeavors together. To health, happiness and time to enjoy!"

Standing on this Rock
Standing on this rock
Looking down below
And sitting where the natives sat
To watch the falling snow
Shimmering and dancing
Reaching out to say Hello
Giving all the purest breathe of life
While putting on a show
Standing on this rock
My worries disappear
To the clear blue sky, where Eagles fly
And peace is in the air
Standing on this rock
Where once stood early man
Looking up at ole grand dad
And living off his land
So the time has come to part
Goodbye for now I guess

I’ll be back someday maybe I’ll stay
Right here at Eagles Nest
